05th March 2012 ISLE OF MAN – Microgaming (www.microgaming.com) has provided a substantial fundraising sum to support Manx-based charity Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.
The world’s largest provider of online gaming software has donated a sum of £1,504 to the charity, established in 2005 after the death of 25 year old Craig Lunt, who died of a previously unidentified heart defect. The Foundation aims to raise the necessary funding to enable the heart screening of all men and women between 14 and 35 on the Isle of Man in order to help prevent Sudden Death Syndrome.
Microgaming’s CEO Roger Raatgever was pleased to hand over the cheque to Craig’s mum Paula Lunt, who founded the charity following Craig’s death. The proceeds of the cheque came from Microgaming’s annual staff party.
Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said: “Our prize draw held at the annual staff party is hugely popular with staff, as it gives them the opportunity to raise money to benefit local charities. The Heartstrong Foundation is a very popular recipient.”
Paula Lunt, founder of Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, said: “Our Foundation could not survive if it were not for the generous donations that companies such as Microgaming provide. We are extremely grateful to Microgaming and their staff for their kind donation.”
